How to strengthen and improve research collaborations in personalised medicine between Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe (EU-LAC). The role of research funding agencies

This virtual workshop will bring together Personalised Medicine researchers and funding institutions in EU and LAC to share knowledge, discuss options and provide recommendations for promoting the collaboration in personalised medicine between Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe. The output will be summarized in a short paper (1-2 pages) on the “R&D needs for EU-LAC collaboration in Personalised Medicine”, which will be presented to the Executive Committee of International Consortium for Personalised Medicne (ICPerMed).

OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP

• To discuss the results of the survey carried out in June 2022 to analyse the EU-LAC research collaborations in the field of Personalised Medicine.
• To facilitate and exchange on the experiences and the concrete needs of EU and LAC researchers (e.g. funding, networks).
• To discuss about concrete recommendations for EU and LAC research funding institutions and for the International Consortium for Personalised Medicine (ICPerMed) to promote international research collaboration between the two regions.

The workshop will bring together EULAC-PerMed partners and European and LAC researchers, experts and funders, to share knowledge, discuss options and provide recommendations for promoting the collaboration in personalised medicine between Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe.
